Vinyl Rider
Virtual vinyl turntable simulator for learning to DJ
See it in action.
Is Vinyl Rider affiliated with Bandcamp?
No. Vinyl Rider is an independent app by the developer and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or supported by Bandcamp. It connects directly to Bandcamp's open-beta Subsonic service for your authenticated collection.
How are my Bandcamp credentials stored?
The generated Subsonic username and password are kept in your device's secure credential storage. They are not added to filenames, the offline library, website, or a developer-operated server. Disconnecting removes the credentials without deleting downloaded tracks.
What is stored for offline use?
Downloaded audio, artwork, track metadata, BPM results, and bass-analysis timelines stay in the app's private storage on your device. There is no export, sharing, cloud sync, or cross-device library sync.
How do I delete downloads and app data?
Remove one or more items from Downloaded Tracks, or use Remove All to clear the offline library. Disconnect Bandcamp to remove its credentials. Uninstalling the app or clearing its app data removes all locally stored app data.
What if Bandcamp rejects my connection or a download fails?
Generate fresh Subsonic credentials in Bandcamp Fan Settings and choose Update Credentials in the app. For failed downloads, restore a stable connection, check available device storage, and retry. Already downloaded tracks remain available offline.
Do downloads continue in the background?
Downloads continue while you browse or use the decks in the foreground. Background transfer is not promised: leaving the app safely stops active work, and ordinary queued downloads can resume when you return.
Is the app free?
Yes. Vinyl Rider is free and has no subscription or in-app purchase. You still need lawful access to any audio you load and a Bandcamp account with eligible collection items to use the optional Bandcamp connection.
Can I use audio already on my device?
Yes. You can choose a supported audio file from the system file picker and load it onto either deck. The app only receives the file you select; it does not scan your music library.
Does the app work offline?
The mixer, decks, device audio, and completed Bandcamp downloads work offline. Browsing your live Bandcamp collection and downloading new tracks require an internet connection.
Does the developer collect analytics or personal data?
The app has no developer account system, advertising SDK, analytics SDK, crash-reporting SDK, or developer-operated backend. See the Privacy Policy for details about on-device data, Bandcamp requests, store services, website hosting, and support messages.
